Four Rivers Covenant Church
4 Rivers Church is located in Calvert City, Kentucky, close to the beautiful lakes and recreational biking and hiking of Land Between the Lakes. We are a family of Faith devoted to loving our neighbors both locally and globally, serving our community, caring for individuals and families as we would our own families, and loving Jesus Christ with our whole hearts, our whole souls, and our whole minds.

We are a people of
compassion
We believe that true Compassion requires more than just "feeling it". 4 Rivers holds as a core value the command to "love your neighbor" and strives to act on that command in our relationships, our words, and our acts of service to others. Service, to us, is a privilege, an invitation from Christ to enter into the life He lived by pouring out His life as an offering to others. We also share in the sufferings of Christ by acting to bring healing and hope to those who are lost, alone, and hopeless. We cannot fix or heal the broken and hurting, but we can walk alongside them, care for them and carry them to the ONE who can. We live in a world that is quickly allowing their love to "grow cold" (Matthew 24:12). We commit to keeping the fire of Christ's love alive in our hearts.

acceptance
We believe it is the unending, unbounded, unimaginable love of Christ that leads the broken and lost to Jesus, not the judgement of Man. When we reach out with arms of Compassion to our neighbor, it means we also Accept them for who they are, where they are. We know that we were also amongst the broken & hopeless....But God....
He stepped in and loved us exactly where we were, where we are. His loving acceptance of us guides us to seek out & welcome ALL in His name. Acceptance is a core value for us as we seek to become more like Him. This does not mean Christ leaves us in our sin, our brokenness, our shame. But by experiencing His great Compassion for us, by Accepting that love and committing our lives to Him, we are then led to the next step of Truth.

truth
We believe that Truth is not an isolated experience, discovered outside of the love of Christ (Ephesians 4:15). Without His love to guide us, "truth" is often misdirected, misapplied, and used to bring harm instead of healing. Yet, as Christ followers, we also know that Jesus IS Truth. This does not simply mean he "knows" what truth is, but He is actually the embodiment of it, Truth come to life. To follow Christ fully means to be eager to learn, quick to apply, & committed to transformation from within. Truth applied appropriately brings life, brings healing, and sets us FREE. We are committed to teaching, to learning, to listening, and to applying the Truth of God's words, wisdom, & direction for our lives.
